Photo Story Friday — Backyard Mountain Climbing
Shane spied a mountain in the yard.
A towering pile of loam, just begging to be scaled.
He scrambled part-way up, then thought better of it,
and asked for help getting back down…
…then quickly regrouped, and decided to give it another go.
He climbed with a fierce determination,
muttering “Up, up, up, up” under his breath.
Finally, victoriously, he reached the summit!
His clothes told the story of his excursion.
What a fabulous backyard adventure for this little boy!
No matter how big or small the mountains in front of him may appear…
…now he knows that he can scale them all.

What a fun mountain to climb! I love that he got messy and happy. Cute!
He looks like he’s in little boy heaven!
How fun! Love the story you told with the pictures.
The close up of the boot? Swoooooon! ALL of these are great pics that tell a great story, but I love shots like that. Fantastic!
What a proud moment! Yes, he did it! What a fun adventure for a boy, and what a great mama for being there to document the occasion. So many memories waiting to be made.
congratulations little guy–
Kaye-the road goes ever ever on
What fun! Next, he’ll be moving mountains. 🙂
I can tell he had a blast climbing up there! A couple of weeks ago it was Jonathan climbing snow piles!
There’s not a boy in the world that could pass up a hill like that 🙂
Oh I just love that shot of his dirty little pants and boot. Hurray for little boy adventures!
I adore this!!!
Our next door neighbor drives a huge shiny dump truck, so we get dirt whenever we need it – what a heavenly thing for little boys!
I love the last shot of his victorious trek! And I love that he said “up, up, up” to himself! That is just darling!
He is cute and fearless! Reminds me of my girls. They both love to climb!
