Wordful Wednesday {Making Playdough}

May 19, 2010

It’s a rainy, dreary day. We may break out the rain boots and rain coat this afternoon for some puddle jumping…but this so far today we’ve chosen to stay warm and cozy indoors, doing indoor things.

Laundry, followed by extreme block building (you should have seen the tower we built!).

Sorting and putting away clean diapers, followed by an extra snugglely story time (just about every Sandra Boynton and Bryon Barton book in existence).

Vacuuming, followed by a breathless wild rumpus of a dance party (turns out the lyrics to Can’t Buy Me Love are “Bye bye bee wuv!” — at least, that’s what they are when my son sings along).

But the highlight of our day was, by far, making play dough.  There was a blizzard of flour across the kitchen floor and an amazing amount of food coloring-stained skin by the time we were done…but the experience was worth all the clean-up in the world.

Just look at that little flour-dusted face!

I’m linking up with this week’s Wordful Wednesday,

    Looks like a perfect stay inside kind of day. 🙂
