The Traveling Shoes — Second Outing
Over pomegranate margaritas and a heaping platter of what very well be the world’s best nachos, we caught up on the details of each other’s lives — everything from the past several months that couldn’t be conveyed in a Facebook status, text message, or quick e-mails. The amazing and mundane, the heart-breaking and heart-warming, and the side-splittingly funny moments, we shared it all. Memories of our shared pasts, moments from the here and now, and our hopes and dreams for the future…we talked, and talked, and talked. Laughed, and hugged, and fought back tears.
As I drove home, with snippets of our conversations echoing in my mind, it struck me how good I felt. Refreshed…relaxed…rejuvinated…and ready to take on whatever life has in store for me once more. That, right there, is the sign of time well spent with some pretty remarkable friends.
