Boo-Boos and Mama Kisses

March 31, 2010

There’s a special magic of motherhood
when a simple kiss has the power
to sooth and heal your hurts,
Both real and imagined.

It’s an awe-inspiring, yet humbling, ability.
Skinned knees, stubbed toes, pinched fingers…
You run to me, believing wholeheartedly
In my healing kiss.

Someday there will be hurts that I can’t fix,
Wounds my kiss won’t — can’t — heal.
Hurt feelings, the gnawing ache of disappointment,
A broken heart.

But for now, for today at least,
I can wrap you in my arms,
Wipe away your tears,
And kiss the boo-boos away.

He’s not even my kid and I want to hug and kiss him! Ooooh! *sniff*

It is a lovely feeling to know you are capable of fixing anything in his little world. Having graduated onto having a child in High School I am terrified about all that we cannot control or fix. Make the most of these precious days…

Oh, look at that face! You just want to hug him.

    Hugs and Mocha,
    Stesha

So beautifully said. I love this. It’s true. That’s why I love the Warm Chocolate Milk so much. It heals all to them. I want to always have this power…to never let anything hurt them.
