Photo Story Friday: Sleepy Little Man

March 5, 2010

After sleeping through the night (well, almost right through the night) for the first time ever in his two short years of life, Shane was wide awake and ready to take on the day by four in the morning.  (Yes, four…).

Luckily for me, Shane had a date with my mother-in-law, his Na-na, this morning.  Once the rest of the world was awake, I gathered the diaper bag, we bundled up, and off to grandma’s house we went.

There he stayed, happily engrossed in the toy tractors she has for him, and I skipped home for a few hours of much-anticipated rest.  Later, she even took Shane over to see her mother, his great-grandmother, for a short visit.  He came home shortly after noon, groggy and bleary-eyed, and  fell asleep in his high chair within minutes of sitting down for lunch.

Not only were we able to clean off his sauce-stained face & hands without waking him from his slumber, we also brushed his teeth, extracted him from his high chair, and carried him to his crib while he snoozed on.  This never happens in our house…which, in this mama’s eyes, makes it an event worthy of photo documentation!  (Besides…how sweet is that sleeping face?!)

He is the most darling sleepy boy! It is definitely photo-worthy for his baby book. He can refer to it when he calls you up at 2am and begs you to tell him how to get his son to sleep 🙂

I love that you brushed his teeth while he slept through it!!!

(And thanks for the laughs about your sis blaming your dad for her little auto adventure!)

I love it when that happens (and it happens very little at my house too)! They’re warm and happy and sleepy and I get to give them squeezes while they are. Nothin’ better!

    He’s adorable by the way!

    Oh, that is soooo sweet.

And, that never would have been pulled off in our house, either.

This rarely ever happens in our house either. . .Love those photos! He reminds me so much of jonathan!

He looks so cute and angelic! Print it and stick it on the fridge door for days that he is climbing the walls and driving you demented…!

Super sweet indeed. I particularly like the 3rd photo.
